The sheep is a rainbow sheep; I have tried to heighten its colours a little. Inspired by the idea of the “black sheep”, which is rejected and devalued for being different, this painting celebrates and values being different and looking different, seeing this as an opportunity to learn and grow! As a herd animal that may look too much to the other sheep for guidance, this sheep is free to discover and follow its individuality and independence. The earrings, which are rather unusual for sheep, also stand for this... the painting is meant to bring a smile to your face and remind you that you are just right as you are...
