The full artist order is shuffled once per browser session; that session order determines placement completely and rotates visibility. Search filters by name, studio or brand name, and handle, but does not re-rank the displayed profiles. Plan, commission, and reaction counts do not affect order, and there is no paid placement. Artist search suggestions compare the name, studio or brand name, and handle and prioritize exact matches, then matches at the start, and finally contained text; within the same tier, the displayed artist name is sorted alphabetically.
